Adrienne’s Steak Pie

Ingredients
- 800g Diced Stewing Steak
- 2 tbsp Plain Flour
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil/Butter
- 2 Large Chopped Onions
- 500ml Beef Stock (knorr)
- 35ml Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tbsp Tomato Puree
- 1 tsp Dijon Mustard
- Salt and Pepper
- 1 tbsp yr brown sauce (optional)
- Puff pastry Shop bought
To Cook
- Add the butter /oil into a large pan and cook the chopped onions for a few minutes.
- Add flour salt and pepper to the beef mix well then add in the pan.
- Brown the beef in the pan to sear for a few minutes.
- Add the beef stock to the pan and stir
- Add in your worchestershire sauce and YR if using and tomato puree Dijon and whisk through.
- Cook on a low to medium heat for approximately 1 hour until the beef is tender or 5 hrs high in slow cooker
- Gently pour the beef and gravy into an oven proof dish and let cool.
Prep and Cook the Pie
- Roll out the pastry to fit the top of your pie dish.
- Brush over the top of the pastry with a whisked egg yolk and make a couple of slits in the top of the pie pastry bake in the oven at 160oC for 20-25 minutes until the pastry has risen and is golden brown on the top.
- Serve with potatoes and root vegetables.
